I was born and raised in the East-End of London, I lived for the first few years with my brother and parents above the barber shop that my dad ran. My parents had worked hard to give my brother and I a better life that they had when they were children. Eventually as the shop got busier we moved to a house that was situated in a more salubrious area.  Sadly my parents are no longer with us and in hindsight I wish that I had appreciated them more.

My brother went on to emigrate to Australia and has never looked back. He has done very well for himself and has a great life there with his wife and three children. I am very proud of him. I carried on the family tradition and became a barber, something I did for a very long time, until I eventually wanted a change and went on to qualify as a chiropodist. These days the thing that interests me most is my writing. I have always enjoyed the English language and find learning new words so rewarding. Every morning I try to do a couple of crosswords, I'm sure that this helps me to keep my brain alert.

Nowadays I live outside London  in a more rural location with my wife. We have a grown up daughter who lives fairly close with her husband and two children.

Recreation wise I have never been overly keen on football and rugby, I much prefer cricket even though I never played it at school, watching it on a sunny summer afternoon is so relaxing. To keep myself in shape I love going out on my bike and riding around the countryside. I try to go off road as much as I can, as well as being more fun it is safer and traffic free. I also used to love walking our beloved Border-Terrier, but sadly he died a few years ago and I still miss him every day. After such a strenuous routine I can't think of anything better than lunch and a couple of pints at a local country pub!
